Backups and restores
Create manual and scheduled backups of your server, restore from a previous snapshot and download backups for off-site storage.
A backup is a snapshot of your server's files at a point in time. We recommend at least one automated daily backup and a manual backup before major updates.
Create a manual backup
- Open the Backups tab.
- Click
Create backup. - Optionally name the backup and add ignored paths (
cache/*,logs/*). - Wait for
Successfulstatus. Large Minecraft worlds can take 2–5 minutes.
Schedule automatic backups
Go to Schedules → Create schedule, name it Daily backup, set cron 0 4 * * * (4 AM UTC daily), task Create backup. Done.
Restore a backup
From the Backups tab, click the menu beside any backup and select Restore. This overwrites the server files, so stop the server first.
Always create a fresh backup right before restoring an old one — that way you can roll forward if the restore has unexpected issues.
Download a backup
You can download any backup as a .tar.gz for up to 72 hours after creation. After that the download link expires but the backup remains on the panel.
Retention and limits
- Default retention: 7 daily slots per server.
- Manual backups are kept until you delete them or hit the slot cap.
- Need more slots? Open a ticket — extended retention is a paid add-on.
